Free towing on most cars. Paid when it is loaded.
A junk car in East Van is usually parked somewhere awkward: under a lane carport, behind the daily driver on a tandem pad, or in a strata stall with a deadline taped to it. We buy it where it sits. You hear the price before any truck is booked, and you're paid once it's loaded.
We only buy vehicles. No used parts, no boosts or roadside help.
East Van lots are narrow and parking is tight. These are the spots we pull from every week.
A car that has not moved since the last time someone tried to start it, tucked under a carport off the lane.
The dead car is at the back and the daily driver is at the front. We work around it.
The garage is coming down and the old car parked beside it has to go first.
A basement suite tenant moved out and the car stayed. We just need to know who can sell it.
A notice to clear the stall by a certain date. We book before the deadline.
Get it gone before it collects complaints, tickets, or a tow bill of its own.
Three things that decide how a junk car pickup goes in East Van.
The City of Vancouver counts a parked car as abandoned once it has sat on a street for more than 14 days, or sooner if it has no valid plates, no insurance, or plainly isn't running. A car with lapsed insurance isn't allowed on a street or lane at all, and abandoned cars can be towed and impounded under the City's Impounding By-law 13709. Call before a warning notice goes under the wiper. We load it from the curb, so it never has to be insured or driven again.
Most lane pickups use a flatbed that backs down the lane and winches the car onto the deck. If the wheels turn, the winch does the work. If a wheel is seized or the tires are flat, tell us when you book so the driver comes ready for it. Low carport beams and fences tight to the car's side are what we ask about first, because the truck has to line up straight. A photo looking down the lane and one into the carport tells us which truck to send.
Every junk car we pick up goes for recycling. Fuel, oil and coolant are drained, the battery and tires come off, usable parts are pulled, and what's left is crushed and shipped for shredding so the steel gets melted down and reused.
You sign the registration and ICBC's Transfer/Tax Form once you've been paid. The driver brings the form. Estate cars, lost registrations and loans are covered in our BC paperwork guide.
Send a photo and the year, make and model to 236-201-8504. Tell us where it sits.
You get a number before anything is booked, based on the car itself.
Same day is often possible if you text early. Otherwise pick a time that suits you.
Cash or e-Transfer when the car is loaded, then it is towed away.

Yes. Most East Van pickups are from lanes and carports. Tell us how tight the carport is and whether the car rolls, so we send a truck that can reach it.
Not if the car in front can be moved for a few minutes. If it cannot, tell us when you call and we will plan around it.
No. Towing is free on most cars we buy in Vancouver, and you are paid when the car is loaded. If something about the pickup changes that, we tell you before booking.
We can only buy a car from the owner or someone who can show they are allowed to sell it, like an executor. If a tenant or someone else left it, call first and we will explain what usually works.
Not legally. The City doesn't allow uninsured vehicles on streets or lanes. If it's on your own driveway or carport it can stay there, so book a pickup and we'll take it from where it is.
Yes. Tell us whether the steering wheel is locked, so the driver comes ready to move it without them.
